&nbsp;I started in 2017, this compilation of work was intended to be a 60 page printed book. Perfection&nbsp; includes a series of images, video, scrap collages, and written ideas. &nbsp;the project spanned &nbsp;3 years, &nbsp;but due to continuity issues arising from progress in the craft I decided to scrap it.&nbsp; this is the first time it was shared publicly in its entirety. &nbsp; perfection killed the artist -not letting yourself get in the way of your vision because circumstances primal dated tradition. Only a handful of artisans still carry on the traditions of leather craftsmanship; sustainable, ethical, high quality and most important hand made in small quantities. When I stumbled across Sean’s work, it stuck out tremendously from any other work I had observed. His design language was so intriguing, inherently beautiful &amp; raw. Words couldn’t grasp what I was looking at, almost as if it transcended words of description or even understanding. Design is important when it’s functional and refined, because the object itself is explaining how it wants to be operated. Design is intended to be non-verbal - art is intended to be undefined. In February we started the project, and due to my over excitement I over saturated the design, forgetting the importance of simplicity. The first bag was more aesthetic than functional. During our second go around, I refined the objective of the bag and focused on function, deleting various attachments that truly served no purpose. During this discovery, Sean was so understanding and helpful. In fact (300+ emails later) we learned more about one another outside of the project, despite a &nbsp;lofty 8 hr London time difference. This taught me the beauty of creative exploration, and the power of human connection; profoundly more multi-dimensional than bottomless consumerism. This was an infinite ever increasing value. So, for this project, we selected a kangaroo leather which is 10x stronger than cowhide. In hand this leather feels strong, yet the pores of the hide add a rough texture. Sean also combines rubber and leather ( inspired by Carol Christian Poell) so he created another tonal pigment for the bottom of each camera case. &nbsp;This doubled as extra protection and structure. &nbsp;
